Reverend Dr. Lon Calvin Whitfield has been endeavoring to help our communities via its outreach ministry called “Positive Change”. Positive Change is a systematic culmination of initiatives focused on meeting the day-to-day need of disadvantaged and deserving individuals and families. As Jesus indicated, we cannot say to those around us who have unfortunate circumstances, “Go and be warmed and filled”. Reverend Dr. Lon Calvin Whitfield has implemented 3 powerful initiatives in the local community to become a force in the eradication of poverty and ignorance.

The outcomes of these weekly sessions are answers and solutions provided by Reverend Dr. Lon Calvin Whitfield and many accomplished professionals from the area. Finally, each individual is given the care and follow up making sure they get the help needed. These meetings/programs are also held in conjunction with such organizations as the YMCA, Salvation Army, and other church affiliations.
FamilyFirst – Reverend Dr. Lon Calvin Whitfield has embarked upon a strategic endeavor to save families. Reverend Dr. Lon Calvin Whitfield has instituted a “Family Sponsorship” we are in direct partnership with select families who have had setbacks because of a tragedy such as job loss, loss of loved ones, divorce, fire, etc. We fully realize that there are times in our lives that unforeseen negative events can occur to disrupt and sometimes break families and it could be you or I in need. Our program is designed to provide restoration identifying those families who are suffering and provide the food, shelter, clothing and spiritual/emotional support needed to recover.
TeenTrack – Reverend Dr. Lon Calvin Whitfield feels that the youth are our greatest untapped resource in the church. Through initiatives such PTU (Pull Them Up) and many “youth centered” music and event programs (debate teams) we will continue to send the message of the Gospel to reach our young adults. I will established a college scholarship fund and continue to identify traditional funding institutions to support and foster academic achievements of young people. My strategy is simple inclusion. We continue to sponsor music events/dance/cultural outings/seminars that are presented, developed and executed by our youth to foster their spiritual relationship with the Lord with sense of value in the community.
